Brazil EOR cost guide

How much does an Employer of Record cost in Brazil?

An Employer of Record quote in Brazil has two parts: the landed employment cost of the person, and the provider fee for employing and administering them. The landed cost is gross pay plus applicable employer charges, annual provisions, benefits and operational inputs such as equipment or transport. The fee is charged either as a fixed monthly amount per employee or as a percentage of payroll. Any responsible figure must state the role, city, salary, benefits policy and effective date behind it, so we prepare cost briefs rather than publishing a single national multiplier.

Compare the routes

Choose based on the real operating relationship and business objective, not only the label.

Fixed fee per employee

Fits when
Senior or higher paid roles, where a percentage would rise without extra work.
Do not use when
Very low salary roles, where a fixed fee can be a large share of cost.
Operating owner
The employing structure administers payroll, benefits and reporting.
Cost shape
A predictable monthly amount per employee, independent of salary.

Percentage of payroll

Fits when
Mixed or lower salary populations, or teams that scale up and down.
Do not use when
Highly paid roles, where the fee grows with no change in scope.
Operating owner
The employing structure administers payroll, benefits and reporting.
Cost shape
A share of monthly payroll, so cost tracks the salary base.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

How much does an Employer of Record cost in Brazil?

There are two elements: the landed employment cost of the person and the provider fee. The fee is quoted either as a fixed monthly amount per employee or as a percentage of payroll. The landed cost depends on salary, city, benefits policy and employer regime, so SIBRA prepares a dated cost brief per role instead of publishing one national multiplier.

Is the EOR fee the whole cost of hiring in Brazil?

No. The fee only covers employment administration. Gross pay, applicable employer charges, annual provisions, benefits and operational inputs sit alongside it and usually make up most of the monthly budget.

Which is cheaper, a fixed fee or a percentage of payroll?

A percentage tends to favour lower salary roles and a fixed fee tends to favour higher salary roles. The break even point depends on your salary band, so compare both against your actual roles.

Does an EOR in Brazil cost more than opening an entity?

For a small team an EOR usually costs less overall because there is no setup, local accounting or payroll infrastructure to fund. As headcount and permanence grow, an entity can become the lower unit cost route, which is why we model the transition point.
